On May 25th, 2009, a very special event began to evolve - an event that will take place until late September or early October.

Ruth Adkins, Founder and President of Inspiring Alliance Military Support Network and creator of Troopwalk.com, started an incredible journey - to walk across America to raise funds to support Inspiring Alliance's new online training programs and the ongoing needs of their nonprofit organization's long-term care programs.

What: "Walk a Mile In Their Shoes" Cross-Country Walking Tour

When: Started Memorial Day - Monday, May 25, 2009 - 8:00 a.m.

Expected date of completion: Late-September to Early-October, 2009

Starting point: Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC

Destination: Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA

By way of: VA--WV--OH--IN--IL--MO--KS--CO--UT--NV--CA

Distance: Approximately 3,300 Miles (17.5 million linear feet)

Purpose: National Fundraising Event and Program Awareness Campaign

3,300 miles on foot. This is one of the most dedicated commitments to our
American veterans that has ever been undertaken by anyone. Please
be a part of this phenomenal effort and donate what you can to help this cause.

We are grateful for all the assistance a small group of individuals have provided us in their attempts to verify the authenticity of whether Inspiring Alliance is a nonprofit entity. Through their attempts to suppress a valid cause that has been undertaken to shed light on the needs of our service members, veterans, and their families we, as an organization, have built some wonderful relationships with individuals at the corporate level of several national chains who have reviewed all our corporate documents by now.

We were asked recently by one hotel chain to remove their logo from our site because individual hotel locations do not have the right to lend permission for sponsoring an event of any kind. Because that chain suggested intellectual property rights come into play and we must "first" acquire corporate permission to post logos in our Sponsors platform we have removed all 4 logos for Days Inn, Baymont Inn, Hampton Inn, and Comfort Inn. We do, however, wish to acknowledge the support of Ruth's lodging during the tour, so our appreciation remains posted in our Troopwalk blog and in this text "Thank You"
